Baptism

We believe that baptism with water is a pledge of our covenant with God. Through baptism, we identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. It is a sign of our cleansing and freedom from sin. It is also a sign of our commitment to walk in the way of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Anyone ten years of age or older who wished to be water baptized at Petra must first participate in an instructional class. Water baptism generally take place three times a year, two at the church on Sunday mornings, and one at an outdoor venue on Sunday evening.
