We believe that through communion we renew our covenant with God and with each other. We remember - and participate in - the life and death of Jesus Christ until he returns. Communion is reserved for those who have surrendered their lives to the Lordship of Jesus.
At Petra, we take communion six times a year, five during Sunday morning services and one on a Sunday evening. The Sunday evening service incorporates a voluntary footwashing of another believer - an act of service prompted by the example of Jesus as he washed his disciples’ feet in John 13.
